This summer, I am going to take three seminary classes. Two of them comprise a full year of Greek, which will be compressed into about five weeks in July-August. Sounds like fun, right? They call it “suicide Greek” for a reason…
Anyway, right now I’m starting a class called “Readings in Theological Classics.” [...]

Read this. Read this, too.
There’s really nothing to say about this situation… literally. I can’t imagine what it must be like for anyone directly involved in this mix-up. Just a minute ago, I was talking with Shawn on the phone, and I realized that I don’t know whose parents I would rather [...]

So here I am, in our new home, typing on my new computer.
Update #1: We’re moving on Saturday! Almost everything is already packed in boxes … the other day, we ran out of boxes, so I went dumpster-diving at local fast food restaurants to get some more. You’d be amazed at how [...]

So, apparently there’s been a bit of confusion about what I meant when I said that I enjoyed studying in seminary much more than teaching ” ‘normal’ ” math classes. (If you recall, we’ve already had this conversation this year.)
Nobody needs to clue me (or any other math teacher, hopefully) in to the value [...]

…still bad. At least they finally beat the lowly Royals yesterday.
How can the team that leads the majors in runs scored, RBIs, hits, batting average, and total bases still be under .500 on the year?

Laura VanRyn is waking up!
She is one of two students to survive the truck-van crash that killed four TU students and one staff member almost three weeks ago. She’s been in a coma since then, but she is starting to communicate with her family and with her therapists… what an answer to prayer.
The inside [...]

Two highlights from today’s early round of finals (MAT120 group presentations):
“freak marvelous poisoner”… One group presented the section on cryptography and RSA encryption. They presented an amazing anagram as an illustration of a simple type of encryption (Dan Brown would be proud). What’s the hidden message? I’ll post the answer as [...]

…two hours long, just like normal. Did I need to be there? Not really. Here are some highlights:
The two seniors who were killed in the car crash of two weeks ago will receive diplomas posthumously at commencement later this month. So will one of the underclassmen, who had enough credits to [...]

Life is somehow returning to normal here at Taylor, in the sense that everyone is working furiously to finish up this semester. But in the midst of reading loads of reflection papers (and grading group projects), I still find time to keep up with the Tribe..
The Indians are officially bad. At least, they’re [...]
